A Clinical Exercise Physiologist is a University trained professional, whom treats and manages chronic health diseases, injury prevention and improves sporting performances.

This is done through the extensive knowledge of effective exercise prescription in accordance with evidence based research. Meaning that each exercise intervention is specifically designed for each patients individual goals.

By incorporating safe exercises into the patients programs, it leads to better health outcomes, which builds a patients self esteem and self confidence. Each exercise intervention incorporates fun and enjoyable movements, leading to increased exercise adherence. Meaning that it makes it easier for patients to continue their exercise interventions productively.

Matwork Pilates

Matwork pilates is prescribed to be fun and safe, whilst enjoying an efficient and beneficial workout for the whole body. It is a good way to manage and treat health conditions, as well as just being used for a fun exercise type for anyone. All exercises are prescribed to suit patients with all ability levels.

Strength and Balance

Strength and balance is essential for everyone in all lifestyles. Individually focused exercises are prescribed to ensure a full body workout is performed. This mode of exercise is aimed to work through a variety of safe exercises that lead to increased strength and improved balance capabilities. It is designed for patients of all abilities.

After graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours) in 2019, I believe that exercise is medicine and one component to a healthy way of life. Through exercise we can see significant benefits to your health in areas including cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal, neural, metabolic conditions and more. By using evidence based research, I prescribe effective and safe exercise interventions, that patients enjoy and therefore want to continue exercising.

I am a bubbly, knowledgable, fun, caring and reliable Exercise Physiologist that will provide a professional and effective service for each session. Whom likes to assist patients in growing and developing their knowledge on improving their lifestyles. I believe that it is essential to educate patients on how to improve their life skills and therefore improve Independant Activities of daily living (IADL’s). Coming from a running and team sport background, I also enjoy working within this scope to improve movement performance.

Special Interest Areas: I enjoy working with patients whom have Amputations, Diabetes, Chronic Pain Syndrome, Osteoporosis and Osteopenia (Bone Health).

Clinical Exercise Physiology (HONS) AEP, AES, ESSAM
Pilates Instructor Qualified (Equipment and Matwork)
ECG Analysis and Interpretation Qualified
Kettlebell Essentials Levels 1 & 2
Stick Mobility Level 1 Qualified
Boxing Instructor Qualified
Current CPR and First Aid
Current Blue Card

Experience:

I have experience working with a wide variety of patients whom have had conditions in all the areas listed above within private practise, mobile and hydrotherapy roles. I have a passion for assisting patients to achieve optimal health outcomes by prescribing the most appropriate exercise interventions for the patient. Throughout my career I have worked with a wide variety of health conditions including cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal, neurological (specifically stroke and spinal cord injury), disability, oncology, mental health and chronic health diseases. I have also worked with patients of all ages.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS): I have worked with patients in the NDIS Scheme since 2020, and understand the NDIS system in depth with all of the requirements. I thoroughly enjoy working with the NDIS scheme and assisting patients to achieve their goals, in which significantly improves their Quality of Life. Previously I have worked as an NDIS provider, however I am currently an unregistered provider. I am able to work with Plan Managed and Self Managed Participants. I specialise in working with patients that have gone through amputations and have diabetes.

Workcover: I have experience working with the workcover scheme. In which I enjoy assisting a patient to return to work post injury, via prescribing the most optimal exercise intervention which is workplace specific for each individual patient.

Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA): In the past I have worked with patients in the DVA Scheme. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and assisting these patients through successful exercise interventions. This is also an interest area of mine, to assist our Veterans to achieve a healthier and therefore improved Quality of Life.

About Us

At Lauren Sing Exercise Physiology, I understand that every patient is different and I believe in assisting patients to achieve their goals through optimal and fun exercise interventions, that are suitable for each individual. If you like to exercise in a group environment, classes are a great way to social whilst achieving your personal goals and improving your fitness capacities/abilities. If you prefer to exercise individually, private 1-on-1 sessions are available in the Clinic to suit all individual needs. Home Exercise Program sessions are also available if you wish to perform sessions at home.
